First off, I am really glad you're here. I had a niggling feeling in early 2021 that haunted me, and it was a feeling that I am meant to do something bigger with my life, something bigger than myself. While the thought was overwhelming at first, I also knew that if I did not take action, I won't ever feel complete. My calling had arrived and I must figure out how I can make a real difference in this world and help others. So as I learn, explore, dream and create, I am fulfilling my purpose, and you are a part of this exciting journey.
2021 also marked 10 wonderful years of my hosting career, at music, dance and arts festivals; award ceremonies; and regional sports events. I have also taught public speaking skills to children at schools and in camps, and conducted self-development workshops for adults in the evenings. You can still find me on stages at live events these days. Do come by and say hi!
My mission to help others begins with instilling self-belief in my participants, through lessons and activities that empower them from within. Together, we will learn to celebrate who they are, their ideas and ambitions. Every story they tell is from a unique point of view, and therefore it all matters, and they all deserve to be heard.
Utilising my training at LASALLE College of the Arts and the Trinity College London Syllabus on Communication Skills, my workshops will equip participants with the basic skills and techniques to become an effective communicator, and authentic speaker.
My program will include impromptu storytelling (the wilder the better!) to stimulate imagination and creative thinking; character role-playing games to learn about how to be a versatile speaker; and analysis of pro speakers from whom we can learn, then develop personal presentation styles. We will also learn about important self-development practices such as saying positive self-affirmations, being courageous, and having self-compassion, that can help them to become authentic speakers on stage, and resilient in life.
At the end of the class, each participant will prepare and present a short speech or story that is most meaningful to them, while incorporating their key takeaways from the day's lessons.
The self-belief program is designed to empower participants with valuable insights into the practice of self-compassion, offering practical techniques to provide care and comfort to themselves during challenging moments. Drawing inspiration from the work of Dr. Kristin Neff, we structure the program around three fundamental pillars of self-compassion: self-kindness, recognizing our shared humanity, and the cultivation of mindfulness.
We believe that it all begins with the self.
How you view yourself and how you speak to yourself, actually matter. In fact, it matters the most.
There are many things that we cannot control in life, and then there is the self, which we can. When we are kind and compassionate to ourselves, only then will we be able to be kind and compassionate to others, and make a real impact.
Speak, Actually is a self-belief program that helps individuals to think and feel positively about themselves, with a focus on self-compassion, positive self-talk and courage.
Speak Actually is dedicated to nurturing a safe space for every individual to express themselves, be creative and share their voices. We promote inclusivity and respect for one another, as we learn to care for each other and for ourselves.
Our goal is to nurture a future generation who are:
